The PB Products Downforce Tungsten Heli-Chod Buffer Hoods possess two important functions for various Chod systems. Firstly, the Buffer Hood ensures that the swivel attached to the leader is smooth and tidy. In this way everything becomes one smooth flowing whole, which prevents tangling. In addition, the length of the Buffer Hood, of 8.5 cm, ensures that the hooklink/hook cannot reach the lead. This has the great advantage that during the retrieve the lead does not come close to the carp’s mouth. The weight of the lead cannot be used by the carp as a counterweight to release the hook. Also, the lead can not damage the mouth or head of the fish during the retrieve, the lead remains at a distance from the hook / fish. The Buffer Hoods lie flat on the bottom because of the heavy Tungsten they are made of, and are certainly stiff enough to keep the lead far away from the hook.
