A pin is a very useful piece of fishing equipment. It can serve as the end of an hooklink/leader, can be attached directly to a mono line or braided line, can be used as a feeder basket attachment for feeder fishing and much more. The size and strength depends on the needs. The greater the load on the set, the bigger and stronger the pin you use. For light perch leaders, a small size is appropriate. With strong pike leaders, or even when catfishing, the pin should be larger and stronger.
