Jaeger Texas Rig

The Jaeger Texas Rig is fully assembled and ready to fish with. Just tie it to your main line, attach your favorite bait and you’re done! The Japanese hook is extra strong, ultra sharp and robust. In addition, Jaeger has used hard-wearing fluorocarbon and a fast-sinking and environmentally friendly tungsten weight. Each Texas Rig is handmade to ensure high quality knots.

The Texas Rig involves putting a softbait (often a creature bait) on an offset hook. Your casting weight is not attached to the hook (as with a jighead) but loose in front of it. This lead or tungsten weight taps against a bead for extra attraction. Lying loose on the bottom, a predator can catch your bait weightless!

You can also fish the Texas Rig more aggressively by spinning or jigging. Compared to the C-rig, a Texas Rig lends itself better to shorter casts at specific hot spots.
