The Prowess Safety Guard is a very handy accessory for any carp and/or deadbait angler. It is actually nothing more than a strong, elastic cord that is mounted over the end of the rod, on the bankstick or rodpod to prevent your rod from being dragged away during a run. The cord is released when the rod is held at an angle of more than 60°, or by simply pulling on the end of the cord.
