The use of Ci4+ results in a substantial difference in weight on the Ultegra’s compact body, making the rod more responsive when casting long distances. To improved pitching performance, the new Ultegra CI4+ 2 Speed Oscillation line suspension and an AR-C spool equipped with the latest Hi-Speed drag mechanism are used. This reel is protected according to Shimano’s latest innovation called X-Protect which keeps the inner parts free of water and dirt. The G Free body in combination with the Parallel Body will contribute to further and more accurate casting without getting unnecessarily tired after a long fishing day. The 5500 XTC and 5500 XST are similar in design and only differ in colour. Both reels come with a spare spool.
