The Savage Gear Release Rig is based on the same principle as the Line Thru System, where the pike cannot use the weight of the bait to pull the hook loose. In the case of a bite, the lure slides along the leader, away from the razor-sharp pike’s teeth and the hook is left behind. The knife cuts both ways: you land more fish and you lose less lures!
